After so much work during these past few months, and thanks to your amazing support through all the development, I'm really excited to announce the release of Depth Above's Demo. It makes me really happy to see how all of you have consistently shown interest in the game, and I truly appreciate any kind of feedback. You wouldn't believe how happy it makes me to know that people are beating the demo in its entirety and enjoying it, because that's something I never got to experience in Call From Within.

The Demo of Depth Above is almost finished, and for that, I'll update you all on some of the new stuff that has been added and will appear in the final Demo. I can't pin an exact date, but just know that it's really close, in case you're interested

From now on, I'll post some updates regarding my new game Depth Above on here. I think it would be nice to have both the renders and the game they appear in together. As of now, the first monster of Depth Above has already been added. The only things left related to the monster are the AI and the sound effects, as well as a global stats resource that will be unique to each monster. As a quick preview, you can check out:

After more than a year in development, I'm happy to announce the release of Call From Within. I hope you can all enjoy it now that it is freely available for you all. That's it for me for now, I'll take a break for the next week or so as I'm kinda burned out of developing in general. I don't know how many times I've replayed the game for the sake of playtesting, so yeah, I'll be off for some time, but I will be active if you want to chat or anything on my discord server, I'll be happy to just hang out with you all and know what you think about the game. In the next few days, I'll also be working on a trailer for the game

Heya, Darxkl here again.


Unfortunately, the game won't be able to come out in November as stated in the previous post. I've been really busy with college and some other personal stuff, and I'm extremely sorry for this delay. As I mentioned in the post I released I while ago, the game will come out in late December, specifically, after the 15th because after that day I'll be completely free to work on the game all day. Until that, I'll be working on the game, but the development pace will slow down a bit because of some important exams going on. Releasing it on these dates will also allow me to be more active after the release of the game, so if anything happens, I'll be there to fix anything or just to chat with you all. I'm extremely thankful for all the support I've been getting, and it's really inspiring me to continue developing the game until its release. Thank you for being there and showing your interest on these ARG type videos I publish weekly on YouTube. Whenever the game comes out, these videos will help understand the story a lot better. Again, I'm sorry for the delay, and I hope you understand it.


What do I need to do to completely finish the game then? Right now, I'm working on the final boss, its music and the fight itself, and after that, the final cutscene and the credits. Aside from that, I would just need to fix some stuff on previous scenes, the main menu and its music and that would be it. There's not much to do, but with all the outside factors, I will take this extra time to develop what's left without rushing myself of course.

As always, I'll be putting out weekly videos and devlogs, but the overall pace will slow down, so expect more story-oriented videos and stuff like that.

Sup, it's my first time posting something that isn't a render here, but I just wanted to talk about a few things regarding the game I've been developing.

Firstly, just know what it will hopefully come out in November, and I say hopefully because even though I only have a handful of scenes left to do, I still need to record voice lines, improve story telling, create the full theme song plus all the options, secrets and similar stuff. When it comes to the scenes, right now I'm doing Scene 12, which comes right before the scene with the final boss, so I'm pretty close to the end. However, regarding voice lines and story telling, the story is already done, but some voice lines are missing, they need to be written, recorded, and added to the game. I'll probably leave this for last, as it'll just be working upon the completed game, doing all that will probably take me a week if I only focus on that. On another note, when it comes to secrets I'll probably add them after releasing the game. They're not necessary to get a secret ending or something like that, and I'm mainly adding them for fun, so there's no need to hurry.


Right now, what I need to do on Scene 12 is: Add the ambience for the fight area, add the next area (which will be just a couple hallways), add ambience to that area and fix some lag caused by the monsters (I have no idea how I will fix that tbh, I may take a few days to figure it out)


For regular updates, you can check my itch.io page linked on my profile, where I upload weekly devlogs along with ARG-type videos explaining the story of the game. You can find these on my Youtube Channel. And if you didn't notice already, the renders I publish (most of them) are actually based on areas of the game. That is, those renders are basically higher-quality images of the scenes you'll find in the game. I'm not saying that the game's low quality though, it's just that with renders I can use higher quality lighting and overall rendering process.


If the development takes a bit longer, it will be released after the 16 of december, as the weeks prior to that I will be extremely busy with college. I really want to get this game out, I'm really proud of it, but if things don't go as planned I'll have to wait to release it. Just know that taking more time means I will improve things and make more progress, and I hope you understand the time I'm taking. Thanks for all the support and happy halloween ^^
